Where did summer go??

I cannot believe that it is almost September...I swear I started this writing this post in July and somehow it is now the end of August.  Summer flew by faster than ever...we had such an amazing summer.  So instead of going into depth I will show you a little recap of our whirwind summer!

Went to MI for a family reunion and was able to reunite with my long lost friend Abby...miss you already!

 Here is what Layla has been up to:
* She talks NON STOP!  She is such a jibber jabber...it is so fun, but 98% of the time you have no idea what she is saying, but she looks at you like you should know.
*She goes to bed around 7:15 and wakes up around 7:00...thank god we have a good sleeper!
*Her favorite words are, Dada, gaga, hi, bye, pup pup (puppy), baba (bottle), side (I want to go outside), and occasionally if I beg long enough...momma!
*No more walking, she is full out sprinting everywhere!
*She loves being outside, if we are inside and she knows that it is nice outside...she stands by the door points outside and she will keep saying "side, side, side" until finally we go outside to play!
*FINALLY loves bath time again!  She went through like a 2 month stint where she would scream like crazy until it was over.
*My most favorite thing ever that she does right now, is when she first wakes up in the morning and I go in her room to get her.  I open the door and she is standing up in her crib with her nuk halfway out of her mouth holding onto her blankie...she just looks at me and says "hi"!  In the most sweetest voice you have ever heard! 
*She is at such a fun stage right now, she loves making us laugh and when we laugh she mimics our laugh!

My girlfriend Kim took some pictures of Layla...and they are amazing!!  I will post those next time (it is not working right now)!

Got the giggles

This is going to be a little bit smaller post than my typical ones!  I just got back from mexico ( was there for work...I know rough life)!  I was in Mexico for 6 days...this was the longest I have ever been away from Layla!  It was pretty dang hard, but she was in good hands.  She was with Dan until Tuesday and then my parents took her from Tuesday-Saturday!  And by the time I got her back she was spoiled rotten!  So because of that there are not that many pictures.
Here are some updates on Layla:
*She now says; Hi, di di (bye bye), sank ew (thank you), no (no) and of course dada and occasionally mama if I am lucky!
*She is so close to walking on her own, everyday it is getting closer and closer.  She finally likes pushing her little stroller around the house. 
*She loves it when you pretend to chase her around the house.  She laughs the whole time...especially when you catch her.

The video below is another one of her favorite activities...pulling the laundry out of the laundry basket while you are trying to fold it.  She pretty much thinks it is the best thing ever!

We are finally staying around this weekend...so I will get some pictures taken!

Time to PARTY!!!!

This has been a CRAZY busy last month!  From Easter to Birthday to Affirmation...we have been a busy little family.  My house is a disaster...I should pack for Mexico...I should start doing laundry...but no, I am procrastinating...so I minus well write my next blog entry :)

This is going to be mostly pictures...hope you don't mind!

So lets start off with Easter...Layla and I packed up and went to Rhinelander to spend it with my parents.  Dan had to work all weekend, so we went on a little road trip. The weekend was super relaxing...just hung out, watched movies, shopped and went to church!

Now it came the weekend of her big 1st birthday party!  Her party was on Saturday and it rained all day long :( and Layla was cutting 6 teeth (yup 6)...but the show must go on!  It was obviously a ladybug themed party!  It was so great, a bunch of our family and friends came out to celebrate...so thanks again to everybody who came.  Layla is one lucky girl!

It was cupcake time...we stripped her down to her diaper and bib.  Just waiting for us to finish singing to her!

I thought she would dive in and devour the cake...but she just nibbled it...crumb by crumb!

My dad baptized Layla when she was a baby in the hospital, so now that Dan and I are becoming members in a church in Duluth we wanted her to be affirmated at the church.  Her godparents were on hand for this special day!

 Well today is her actual birthday!  What a difference a year makes...our life has been changed dramatically from when Layla entered our lives, definitely for the better.  She brings us such joy, happiness and love every single day!  We thank God everyday that he gave us her, she is the best surprise we have ever received.

11 months old...already!

I know...I know!  When I first started a blog for Layla I made the VERY bold statement that I would update it weekly.  Well that just isn't going as well as I  thought it was going too.  Life has just been so busy lately.  Here are some updates on Layla...the reason we are all here :)!
~She is finally getting two more teeth...one on top and one on bottom.  That will make a total of four!
~She will literally eat anything you put in front of her!  Hence the size 18 months!

~She loves standing and walking along furniture!  She is over crawling and ready for the next step.
~Her favorite thing to say is Dada, but occasionally she will say Mama:)
~She is a chatterbox (gets that from her dad :))!  She is constantly taking to herself, to the wall, to her blankie, pretty much anything around her she will point at and talk too.
~Her BFF is her white polka dot blankie.

Over the last month or so we have been busy.  Layla and I went on a trip to Rhinelander to go bridesmaid dress shopping with Emily.  Layla stayed home with Grandpa while I went shopping.  Here are a few pics from that road trip!

 After that fun filled weekend...next up was visting my new love.  Hazel Renee Hein! My girlfriend Erin had her little baby Hazel on March 21st.  So of course we had to go and meet her ASAP!  Dan and I dropped Layla off at Uncle Matt and Aunt Missy's so that we could just get some good one on one time with the baby!

 After our whirl wind trips it was time for me to go to L.A. for work.  I was in LA 6 days 5 nights!  It was a great/crazy/ busy trip.  Saw some celebrities, ate some amazing food, shopped until I had blisters and worked my butt off!  I sure missed my little bug though!  That was the longest I have been away from her and it was hard towards the end.  I was so happy when they picked me up and I sat in the back seat with her and she looked at me and said "mama." I cried immediately!

I can't believe that we are already planning her 1 year birthday party! It makes me so sad to think about how fast she is growing up but it makes me so excited for the future!
